By speaking with Simon at irepair tools you’re not only speaking to the owner of the business, so can be assured that you’ll be provided with an outstanding service, but you’re also speaking to the technician.
In talking with Simon, you’ll be able to give some background about how the tool usually runs, details of any incident that may have caused the tool to be damaged or not run correctly, together with important details of how it’s now running, or not, the sounds that are heard when using the tool, and even any smell that may have been omitted from the tool. All this information is often the key to understanding the issue which leads to the diagnosis and ultimately the repair of the tool. Make sure that you’re speaking directly to your tool technician to ensure that all the information is discussed, leading to a better outcome for the repair of your tool. It’s also an opportunity for Simon to ask you questions about your tool. It’s your tool, you’re the best person to talk about how it performs…. or doesn’t if it’s needing repair. ![]() They say you need the right tools for the right job. We all get a bit of a laugh at times when we see someone with an injury pop up on Facebook or other forms of social media, especially when it potentially is due to operator error.
Unfortunately the reality is that accidents can and do happen. If you're an employer then that should be of particular concern to you as you are responsible for ensuring the safety of your workers. We recently had a client asked me to dress the probe tips on five of their nail guns because one of their workers whilst using the gun, slipped off the timber and unfortunately shot himself with the nail. The importance of redressing your points on your probes or replacing them is highly recommended to prevent such injuries happening. It's definitely worth making the choice to replace a lower prob rather than risking the safety of yourself or your employees. It can be a an expensive and lengthy recovery and rehabilitation from such injuries, which includes time off work. Whenever we receive a nail gun whether its for a service or a repair we always inspect and redress where possible and/ or advise of the need for a replacement tip. Make sure you regularly check and maintain your tools and if you have any doubts be sure to get them checked, serviced and/or repaired. Sometimes fuel cell adapters get mixed up which results in the gun misfiring.
Sounds simple and obvious, but make sure that you use the yellow adaptor for your fixing/bradder and the red adaptor for your framer. When you're busy on a job its easy to get the two mixed up. Check out the photo below for examples of the two fuel cells. This week I had an opportunity to repair a bea concrete nailer.
This nail gun is German built and used for securing edge carpet trims. A high quality and powerful tool, which is well used and love by its owner but was miss firing and not firing at other times, so needed some attention. The connection to the spark plug was inadequate so I made a fitting to ensure the spark plug made a secure contact. The owner was really pleased with the result and noticed the difference within two test fires. Another happy client. |
